Kai Hämel

Kai Hämel, qualified engineer and founder of GRIDINSPECT® GmbH, has over two decades of experience in the development of sensors and systems in high-voltage technology. His professional career reflects many years of service experience and a strong solution orientation.

In his role as Managing Director, Kai Hämel leads GRIDINSPECT® GmbH with a clear focus on innovation and technological excellence. His expertise is reflected not only in numerous patent applications, but also in the successful founding of the company in 2013.

Jörg Preusel

Jörg Preusel, managing director and founder of GRIDINSPECT® GmbH, looks back on more than two decades of international experience in the sale of high-voltage technology and mechanical engineering. His professional journey began as an electronics engineer, which gave him a sound understanding of technical challenges. With an impressive history in the service sector, he brings extensive experience in customer-oriented support.

As a visionary entrepreneur, Jörg Preusel is characterized by his commitment to business development, which has made a significant contribution to the growth and expansion of GRIDINSPECT® GmbH. In his position as managing director, he leads the company with a clear solution orientation, always keen to find innovative approaches. Jörg Preusel’s leadership style and professional expertise shape the company and contribute to GRIDINSPECT® GmbH continuing to offer groundbreaking solutions for its international customers.

 

Profit Maximization

GRIDINSPECT® offers you a range of innovative solutions to permanently reduce your operating costs.

Simply by using maintenance-free dehumidifiers and online oil drying systems, maintenance intervals and the associated administrative effort in a substation can be significantly reduced.

Existing equipment can be upgraded with new technologies to meet the new requirements brought about by the integration of renewable energy sources. For example, older transformers can be converted from ONAN to ONAF cooling to increase capacity. 

Additionally, older transformers that still operate with outdated electromechanical technology can be upgraded with a control cabinet to modern contactor technology.

In both of these application examples, new investments in equipment can be postponed for a long time, allowing the existing, structurally sound equipment to continue operating in a future-ready manner.

Condition assessment of equipment

To ensure operational safety in high-availability substations, GRIDINSPECT® offers various solutions.

These solutions range from retrofitting individual sensors for condition monitoring of equipment to comprehensive online monitoring systems that continuously track conditions and send alerts when necessary.

To enhance basic security, various sensors can be retrofitted in the first step, such as a simple gas sensor with trend display or a moisture sensor for determining oil humidity.

In the second step, a transformer monitoring system can be added for continuous monitoring of various temperatures and operating conditions, along with a DGA sensor for online monitoring of up to eight gases.

To complete our upgrade package, GRIDINSPECT®also offers data evaluation and analysis, providing you with corresponding action recommendations.

Substation/Automation

In the field of digital substations, GRIDINSPECT® offers complete solutions for real-time monitoring and control of all equipment.

This enables direct response to primary and secondary-side faults in all condition-monitored equipment, ensuring the highest level of operational safety.

The integration of multiple systems, such as transformer monitoring and switchgear monitoring, maximizes energy efficiency.
